I think so too.
I'm not sure what is the meaning of the home page news "Rafael and Kristianpaul are doing a project where they are trying to replace the romchip on the jornada romboard (j7xx) with an flashrom. If this works then we will have a cheap way of making our jornadas windows CE free. You will all be kept informed of this. " , but maybe combined effort is possible?

I have a j720 with accessories that I have been holding on to to get linux/android on it. Last time I looked into getting a flash board I was going to have to make one myself. I will gladly pay for one.

Is the rom board from Jornada 56x the same? Cause it is flash in some versions. By the way, I couldn't find the answear. Is the simpad rom the same?
