3C574-TX - jornada 720

I have been having a lot of difficulty getting my 3C574-TX pcmcia card functioning under jlime. (Kernel 2.6.25.stable <=The best version that I tried with 3C574-TX).
The adapter is recognized by the pcmcia services, looks configured properly, and I can even see activity on the both leds :D, but doesn't receive or transmit anything of another computer (WinXP without firewall) :x . I have tried all kernels Linux versions, 2.4 (It have a lot of problems) and 2.6 (In some versions this card don´t work), but the problem still remain in the Kernel 2.6.25.stable.

I have default route, route to the gw, the crossover cable are good and I know that Linux distribution dont have firewall!

If you type ifconfig you see the network card up, with right configuration, you see right modules loaded with lsmod command (3c574_cs), but card doesn't Receive or Transmit anything!. Have you found a problem like that? I have look in some discussion groups and the problem is very well known, but anybody know a solution. Thanks.

I have provided some information below:

One more note - My 3C574-TX works very well under WinXP - Arrggg!!!

I have that NIC too. And I did not buy another card for nothing. Meaning: it don't work in Linux anymore. Dunno why anymore. You might try to search the forum.

I think that card was broken a couple of kernel versions ago. We have had a lot of reports in that it doesnt work properly.
So unless you want to look at it yourself, I suggest you pick up a cheap on from ebay instead :(

Hi! and thank you to answer my questions, I bought a wireless card - Cabletron - RoamAbout Enterasys that use Orinoco drivers - It´s very cheap and work´s very well on the jornada. :lol:
============================================================

But I have another question! I am using two distributions j7xx-icewm-devroot-051908.tar.bz2 2.4 (This is an Debian version with the zaurus ipk packets?) How can I change the keyboard layout in this distribution? http://www.wanda25.de/jornada-keymap.html - I found it, but it dont work for me :(

Where can I found packets for this distribution? Can I compile any Linux programs to use with it?

When I type the "ipkg update" on the command line, the jornada tries to access the site:
http://www.openzaurus.org/download/3.5. ... ackages.gz
or http://www.openzaurus.org/download/3.5. ... ackages.gz
site

This packets are compatible?
http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showapps.php?cat=16
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... /download/

I found a lot of ipk compatible with arm equipment, but I don´t install it. :)
============================================================

I am using the icewm-image-Mongo-devpkg-3.29.08.tar.bz2 also, and I made my own keymap because I have a 710 jornada with brazilian keyboard (That is very diferent than a j720 brazilian keyboard!) and I load the keymap on the boot and work´s fine!!

How can I compile any Linux programs to use with it? Like iptables, ipcalc, financial calculator, etc.. ?
I found some ipk and sources on the jlime ftp, But I need more!
Have some how to, to do it? patch, ./configure, make, make install, etc..?
Have some jxxx arm emulator that can I use on my pc to test it?

============================================================
I instaled a j728 memory on my j710, now I have 64Mb, cool! And I have
free 32MB to make tests.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

:D Thank you!
