Hi,

I am trying to get a working cross-compiler going so that I can compile Jlime kernels for the 900c. My hope is that I might somehow be able to poke around with the kernel.

I've tried running crosstool on Mac OSX, Debian 4 and OpenSuse 10.3 Every time I try it, something goes wrong. So my question is, what known working development environment confgiurations exist that I can replicate? For instance X distro, version Y, with Z etc. Or am I just doing this wrong?

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks!

I built the Henchman userland and kernel using OE (open embedded). Kristoffer pushed some of the configs upstream and i went out on my own and pushed a few more into OE. So if you install and setup OE the machine (900c) and distro files (henchman) will already be there as will the kernel config/patches.

Be prepared though, as depending on how much and what you build OE can take upwards of 20 gig of space. I built both mongo and henchman including packages in about 9 gig.

Cheers.

Openembedded is the easiest. But it takes a loooong time on a 1.3ghz celeron netbook...
Or if you're only building fairly old stuff you can download gcc 3.4 here: http://jlime.com/wiki/downloads/7xx/extra?s[]=gcc

I just built one with OE if that's any use? Not tested though yet, and for arm gnueabi so won't compile anything for an existing distribution (i.e. Mongo).
